Battleship Zenith is described as covering 1930 through WW2.

Does that mean stats for ships as they were in the 1930s is provided?

I was looking at playing some hypotheticals (War Plan Orange-ish) set in 1931, with US and Japanse ships. But are stats provided so they can be played before some went through modernization in the mid 1930s?

Matt,

The BZ rules-set is designed to allow for the ships and technology from the 1930 through 1945 period, however the ship data itself mainly focuses on the ships as they were fitted to fight in WWII.

I had hoped to be able to release expansions that would add many of the 1930s versions of these ships (and even an entire expansion devoted only to those wonderful hypothetical 'never-build' ships), but due to other work commitments and the state of paper wargame sales these days that simply has not been possible.

Our Navies at War simulation will indeed have every significant modification to each warship class for the many navies that it covers (in a few cases up to 15-20 versions of a single class!), but that of course will be a computer game not a board wargame.
