Well, since I've been able to play Fighting Steel, I'm really enjoying it with FSP 10.43. I recently played the US Campaign against Japan and completed it.
My question is that if FSP 10.43 brings naval battles up to the 1945 time period, I don't seem to be able to play the game's campaign scenarios past December 1942. Is there a way to have the in game campaign generator create battles for me from 1942 to 1945 or does this require Thunder At Sea? And with Thunder At Sea, will it continue to allow me to manage my ships (Crew fatigue, night fighting abilities, etc) like I do with the origional campaign and generate battles for me to play to 1945? |

Hello,
There is a demo for TAS you can download and play -- that may be the best way to determine if TAS meets your gaming needs

Thanks William,
I tried the demo out and it seems to work fine, but when I came across a contact it correctly booted up Fighting Steel to play the engagement. Problem was I didn't know where to find the scenario that was generated to play it out. From the looks of it though I may be purchasing this addon for FS

Quote:
The scenario that TAS generates is named "A_TAS_Scenario"; that is the scenario you should choose and play when TAS jumps you into Fighting Steel.

Thanks William, I found the scenario it created and played it out, works great!
Already ordered my copy of Thunder At Sea this morning ![]() But is there a way in Fighting Steel to start a campaign game at 1942 and have it play out until the end of the war in 1945, or until all ships on one side are destroyed? From what I can see, I've only been able to start either the Fantasy campaign or historical campaign in late 1942 and never get the campaign engine to allow dates into 1943 and later. I'm having fun trying to get my crews to their highest fighting efficientcy by day and night without having them get too fatigued from frequent fighting. |

Hello,
Negative on the extended FS campaign -- I had plans to work on extending the campaign through 1945 once we added sufficient numbers of new ship classes, but work ceased on the project before we arrived at that point.

Thanks for the info William, sorry to hear about the campaign, it would have been fun to have had a longer campaign.
![]() I find it amazing that it's been almost 10 years since this game came out and there is absolutely nothing out there today that gives a real-time 3D graphical simulation of World War 2 surface naval combat. I really appreciate you guys working on this title to greatly improve the simulation. |

Well Jutland by SES is coming out this week. It is the best yet for tactical naval combat. I would assume that the engine would move on to WWII next?
Mind you FS+TAS is a wonder in itself. You are correct the best on the planet! FC is also quite amazing. |
